Mogens Glistrup

Mogens Glistrup was a Danish lawyer, tax expert and politician who was born on 28 May 1926 and died on 1 July 2008. He was known as the founder of the party Fremskridtspartiet, which he founded in 1972.

Glistrup was a controversial figure in Danish politics and social life. He was known for his radical and controversial views, especially when it came to tax policy and immigration issues. He was a strong opponent of taxes and believed that the Danish tax policy was unfair and ineffective. He therefore proposed to remove all taxes and replace them with a VAT of 20 percent.

Glistrup was also a sharp critic of immigration and multiculturalism. He believed that immigrants and refugees posed a threat to Danish culture and the cohesion of society. He became known for his statement that "the best immigrant is one who never comes to Denmark".

Glistrup also became known for his provocative style and his ability to create headlines and debate. He often went against political correctness and said things that many other politicians would not dare to say. He was convicted of tax evasion and spent part of his life fighting for his freedom.

Although Glistrup was a controversial figure, he was also one of the most influential politicians in Denmark in the 20th century. He managed to gather a large group of voters around him and created a political movement that is still influential to this day.
